We have represented and advised our Counties in legal actions, arbitration/mediation, ordinance/rule/policy promulgation, procurement matters, personnel matters, labor relations, subpoena responses, inspection of public records act requests, open meetings laws, election issues, transactional matters, and real property issues. We have drafted contracts, resolutions, and ordinances for Socorro, Sierra, Catron and Valencia Counties, including personnel policy ordinances, gross receipts tax ordinances, rural addressing ordinances, a rural airport ordinance, a waste disposal ordinance, and land use ordinance amendments, among others. Additionally, we have been instrumental in implementing telecommunications siting ordinances, animal control ordinances, and a zoning ordinance for Valencia County. We have additionally overseen and supervised litigation handled by attorneys assigned by the New Mexico Association of Counties, and has reviewed documents and motions filed in civil cases, and has provided his assessment and recommendations with respect to proposed courses of action. Our experiences as County Attorneys have provided us with valuable insight into the operation and management of a rural county.
Local Governments are the building blocks of America. Our firm has expensive experience in providing legal services to New Mexico public bodies. Specifically, in addition to our provision of legal services to Socorro County over the past twelve years, we have served as the County Attorneys for Sierra County for the past ten years, the County Attorneys for Valencia County for the past seven years, and the County Attorneys for Catron County for over two years. As County Attorneys, we have developed close relationship with our County Commissioners, the County Manager, other elected officials, staff and employees of the Counties.
